Liverpool are reportedly 'ready' to rival Chelsea for Lyon star Malick Fofana this summer after talk of an 'approach' by the Reds in recent days.

The 20-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move worth £43m away from the Ligue 1 club.

A Belgium international, he joined Lyon from Gent in January 2024 and played a key role in their run to the Europa League quarter-finals last season.

Chelsea have been credited as long admirers in bringing him to the Premier League, while Liverpool are said to have joined the race for his signature ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

According to L'Equipe, Chelsea have made contact with Lyon's management already, with Liverpool now believed to have also been in touch with Fofana's representatives to discuss a possible transfer.
