Liverpool have reportedly submitted a 'substantial' opening offer for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga.

The 21-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for the Reds this summer, though they are expected to face competition from a number of sides after his breakthrough season in La Liga.

Finishing three points above the relegation zone, Veiga's 11 goals and four assists played a vital role in keeping his boyhood club in the Spanish top flight.
