Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Crystal palace defender Marc Guehi.

A central defender is said to be a priority for Arne Slot this summer following the earlier sale of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen.

The Reds’ hopes of landing Guehi are said to have been boosted with fellow suitors Newcastle United turning their attention to AC Milan’s Malick Thiaw.

Furthermore, Palace chairman Steve Parish has admitted he will sell Guehi if a suitable offer arrives to avoid losing the England international on a free transfer next summer.
