Liverpool FC Women have completed the loan signing of Alejandra Bernabe from Chelsea.

The left-footed full-back will spend the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign with the Reds after finalising her switch at the AXA Melwood Training Centre today.

The third addition of the January window, Bernabe will wear the No.29 shirt for Matt Beard's side.

The Spaniard told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's a pleasure to be here. I know that this is a big club and also I hear the love from outside about this big club, so it's a pleasure to be coming here.

"I'm so happy and I'm so excited. I'm looking forward to meeting all of the supporters and I will give 100 per cent always."

Bernabe has one cap for Spain's national team to date – which came in November 2022 – and was also a Women's U17 European Championship winner with her country back in 2018.

She became a Chelsea player in the summer of 2023 from Atletico Madrid and immediately headed out on loan to Real Sociedad, where she had spent the 2022-23 season.

The 23-year-old, who gained Women's Champions League experience with Sociedad and Atletico, began her career in Spain's top flight with Madrid CFF.

During her first interview as a Red, she added: "I'm the type of person who gives a lot of energy. I'm aggressive on the pitch and I like to attack and defend.

"I like to run a lot and I can be aggressive. I play left-back so I have to run a lot. I always try to give 100 per cent, be aggressive and I like to get crosses into the box.

"We want to be nearer the teams at the top of the table. I know last season the team did very well to finish in the top four, so we need to play in every moment 100 per cent."
