Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has 'spoken directly' to Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat as he looks to beat Manchester United in the race to sign the midfielder, according to reports.

The Reds have been looking to bring in fresh midfield talent this summer but were pipped to the signings of Moises Caiceo and Romeo Lavia, who both favoured a move to rivals Chelsea.

However, Klopp could now be set to win a transfer tussle of his own, with Dutch publication AD claiming that Amrabat will ignore the advances of Manchester United to sign for Liverpool.
