According to The Athletic, the Premier League champions have not made a formal offer and are 'well aware' of the Magpies' stance that their star man is not for sale.
The Reds have long admired the 25-year-old, whose 23 league goals last term were only bettered by Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah.
In all, Isak has netted 62 goals in 109 appearances for Newcastle since his £60m signing from Real Sociedad in 2022, with his goals helping the side claim the Carabao Cup in March - the club's first major trophy in 70 years.
