ClubLifelong Reds demonstrate lasting impact of Run to Anfield
Residents at Thornton Hall and Lodge residential care home, Harry and Jimmy joined last year's event alongside fellow residents and staff, raising more money than any other individual participants on the day.
Their efforts did not go unnoticed. After hearing their story, LFC Foundation invited the group to Anfield for an exclusive stadium tour, where they were welcomed by club legend Ian Callaghan, Liverpool's all-time record appearance holder.
By taking part, the care home helped raise vital funds for LFC Foundation programmes across the Liverpool City Region, including initiatives that tackle social isolation and help people stay connected within their communities.
Since completing the challenge, both Harry and Jimmy have also become regular attendees at sessions run by LFC Foundation's Red Neighbours programme, which actively benefits from the funds they raised.
Their story is a reminder of the impact every pound raised can have. With registrations open for Run to Anfield 2026, supporters have the chance to create their own memories while helping the club's official charity continue its work across the region.
This year's event takes place on Saturday August 1 and once again will see participants take on a scenic 5k route through Stanley Park before finishing at Anfield and entering the stadium bowl for photo opportunities.
A 1k fun run will also return for children, families and those looking for a shorter distance.
Whether you're chasing a PB or taking it easy, sign up to be part of Run to Anfield 2026 here.
