Liverpool FC Women U21s will complete their season on Thursday evening with a County FA Senior Women’s Cup final against Liverpool Feds.

The young Reds will be seeking to complete the double after lifting the Pro Game Academy Division 2 title last week to continue a 13-match winning streak.

Based at the AXA Melwood Training Centre alongside the senior team, the U21s will be hoping to repeat their LCFA Senior Cup victory of last season.

They beat the Feds 5-4 in an epic semi-final on the way to lifting the trophy against Mossley Hill Athletic.

That exacted some revenge for a final defeat to the Feds the previous year in a rivalry that has been at the heart of the competition recently.

Feds play in the third tier of women's football, the FA WPL Premier Division, and sit just one place below Rugby Borough, a side who provided a stern Adobe Women’s FA Cup test for LFC Women’s senior team in February.

Simon O’Neill, head coach for the LFC Women Pro Game Academy, said a terrific game is in prospect.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “I think it’ll be a great game. The semi-final last year was really the final and we had three goals in the last three or four minutes of injury time to go through.

“Feds are a very, very good side, have some really good players technically – Lucy Parry’s sister Mia being one of them. They have a couple of girls who were previously in our pathway.

“It’s obviously a derby and they’re really well coached by [former Liverpool and Everton player] Leanne Duffy. We have a really good relationship with them and indeed one of our goalkeepers, Cadi Doran, has played the last six or seven games for them.

“It’ll be a competitive game and a game worthy of a final. We want to test ourselves against senior women’s opposition and tier three is a very good barometer for us to see where some of our kids are at.”

The final will be played at Walton Hall Park and kick off at 7.30pm BST. Tickets are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions – payment on the gate can be made by cash or card.
