First-half goals from Alice Bergstrom and the debuting Vivien Endemann put the Reds in a strong position at a sun-drenched AXA Melwood Training Centre.
A Mao Itamura double and an Izzie Breen strike then rounded out the scoring against their Barclays WSL2 opponents.
Head coach Gareth Taylor deployed two different Liverpool teams for each half, featuring a mix of established players, new signings and academy graduates.
It was home goalkeeper Faye Kirby who was called into action first, reaching full length to turn away a diving header after the Blades had won a couple of corners in the opening five minutes.
From that point, though, the Reds controlled the vast majority of the ball and went ahead on eight minutes.
Captain Grace Fisk released Alejandra Bernabe down the left and her cross eventually reached Bergstrom, whose low drive found the corner via a slight deflection.
That lead was doubled on 16 minutes, with Bernabe once again the provider. Her cross was volleyed home by Endemann in her first game for the club, a 45-minute outing that also included a couple of impressive runs down the right.
Fellow debutant Natalia Ramos also played the opening 45, firing one low shot just past the post, which was the nearest the hosts came to extending their lead further before the break.
The advantage was stretched to three within five minutes of the restart, however.
Good work from Cornelia Kapocs was finished off by a 25-yard screamer from debutant Itamura, the goalkeeper barely moving as it flew into the net.
It was not long until the Japanese had her second, either; she exchanged passes with Beata Olsson and lashed a shot home for 4-0 on 57 minutes.
Breen swiftly finished off the scoring with another effort from more than 20 yards – the highlight of an excellent half in midfield for the academy player.
A fine Lily Woodham cross was met by Anna Josendal’s head in the final moments but United cleared near the line as Kapocs and Olsson both lurked to finish.
Taylor’s side will continue their pre-season campaign with another home fixture, against Leicester City, next weekend.
