NewsLFC Women injury update: Latest on Bergstrom, Maclean, Josendal and Olsson
Liverpool FC Women head coach Gareth Taylor has issued an update on the fitness of his squad during a pre-match press conference.
The Reds host city rivals Everton in the Adobe Women's FA Cup fifth round on Sunday afternoon at St Helens Stadium.
Speaking to the media on Friday at the AXA Melwood Training Centre ahead of the 4.30pm GMT kick-off, Taylor said: "We have a couple of knocks from the last game. Alice Bergstrom won't be making this particular fixture. She picked up a knee injury in the clash with Chelsea.
"Kirsty Maclean has a slight issue too. We'll just have to check on her in the next 24 hours and Anna [Josendal] won't be quite ready for this game at the weekend. We'll just have to work really hard with her in the international break.
"I think when we get back the other side of it we should see her and hopefully we'll see Anna really firing, so that's exciting. Outside of those two niggles, that's where we're kind of at."
Asked whether Beata Olsson is now ready to start again, he added: "Beata is fit and ready to go. I think when she came on in the Manchester United game she was really limited in what she could do. The guys did a really good job of getting her back to be available for that short period that she had.
"Of course, we have options now at the top end of the pitch and we always look at the opposition and who is going to be really key for us with and without the ball in those forward positions.
"Beata has been working hard, and I think that it was really unfortunate at the start of the year in the first few training sessions that she caught this ankle injury, which kept her out. I felt we were getting some really good returns, but I feel in this next period - regardless of what happens at the weekend - I think Beata is where she was before Christmas where we have her in the international break because she's not going to go away with Sweden.
"We think we can get some really good returns with her from her training because we really saw some key performances from her in that part after that first international break where we were able to get a lot of work and content into her.
"Again, it's probably similar to what we were saying before about having time with the players. It's really precious and when we had that with Beata we got some really good returns."
