NewsLFC Foundation apprentices meet Andy Robertson and Ryan Gravenberch
Three apprentices from LFC Foundation were given a memorable morning earlier this week as they visited the AXA Training Centre to meet two Liverpool players.
Alfie Westhead, James Bibby and Liam Brennan have been training through the Foundation's apprenticeship programme for the last 18 months and are closing in on completing their apprenticeships in the coming months.
As a reward for their work through the programme so far, the trio were invited to the men's training ground to meet Andy Robertson and Ryan Gravenberch to share their journey so far thanks to the club's official charity.
After a meet and greet with Gravenberch and an opportunity for photos, the group were then joined by Robertson, who sat down with the apprentices for a relaxed conversation.
Robertson spoke to the trio to find out more about their journey and their roles within the Foundation and was keen to know their ambitions for the future once they complete their apprenticeships in the coming months.
The key aim for the apprenticeships programme at LFC Foundation is to provide on-the-job learning across all areas of the organisation including football, sports, schools, finance and employment, alongside completing a qualification in their chosen area.
Through the ongoing support of the learning providers, LFC Foundation and Liverpool FC, four current apprentices will transition to full-time members of the LFC Foundation team on completion of their courses.
This 100 per cent success rate is testament to the work and dedication of the apprentices, the support mechanisms put in place within LFC Foundation and our commitment to provide pathways for future careers within the organisation.
Employability is one of the three main impact areas for the Foundation, alongside health and learning, and aims to increase aspirations, build confidence and provide young people with transferable life skills and knowledge, which will open up more opportunities for them in the future.
Last season alone, the Foundation supported almost 1,000 young people in the region across 656 sessions through their employment and training programmes, and funds from this year's LFC Legends game are going towards programmes in this area to help provide even more pathways and opportunities for young people across the Liverpool City Region.
LFC Foundation will soon be releasing opportunities for a further six apprenticeships to be onboarded for season 2026-27, further details of this will be released on the Foundation's vacancies page and through their social channels in the coming weeks.
