NewsLFC Foundation and Premier League's 'More Than A Game' celebrated on Community Day

This Sunday's game against Tottenham Hotspur (4.30pm GMT kick-off) marks the club's annual Community Day to celebrate the incredible work of the LFC Foundation, and this year will also support the Premier League's 'More Than A Game' initiative.

It showcases the Premier League's long-standing commitment to supporting the community activity of clubs at all levels, as well as investing in other areas including the non-league system, grassroots facilities and women's and girls' football. It also has a special focus on the league's flagship community programme - Premier League Kicks - which marks its 20th anniversary this season.

All clubs will be naming a Community Captain once again this season, celebrating someone who deserves recognition for their contribution to the game and society. LFC will be revealing their winner ahead of the match, who will be pitchside at half-time on Sunday to be presented with their award.

Alongside 'More Than A Game', the club will be celebrating the wider work across our communities delivered by the club's official charity, LFC Foundation.

Last season alone LFC Foundation supported over 145,000 people, an increase of more than 18,000 on the previous year and almost three times the number reached in 2020-21. This vital support includes delivering 11,040 sessions and 693 community events across 315 community venues, including 206 schools, totalling the equivalent of 68 hours of delivery every day.

In the fan zone on Sunday supporters will find a range of Foundation activities taking place, and you can also get yourself a raffle ticket to be in with a chance of winning signed LFC merchandise, hospitality match tickets and unique experiences, all while raising vital funds for the charity.

To help celebrate Community Day, LFC Foundation flag wavers will be pitchside ahead of kick-off to welcome the teams out.

Working with the LFC safeguarding team, LFC Foundation's 'Kicking Off Conversations' community space will be open once again for this game, as it is for every Premier League home game.

The hub is located at the corner of 97 Avenue and Anfield Road and will be open two hours before kick-off, with trained staff and volunteers available to support people in crisis, struggling in silence, or simply looking to have a conversation.

LFC Foundation's Red Neighbours team will also, as always, distribute matchday tickets to local schools and facilitate an opportunity for local school children to welcome both home and away teams to Anfield.
