Liverpool FC and The Red Way have been recognised with two Includability Awards for its positive workplace environment and work championing inclusivity in all that it does.

The club was named Committed Employer of The Year, acknowledging its strides to provide an inclusive, sustainable and mentally healthy workplace, as well as Leadership and Governance Star for its excellence in leadership in making a positive impact for business.

The leading work forms part of The Red Way, the club’s ongoing commitment to helping build a better future for its people, its planet and its communities.

The Includability Awards are presented by Includability, a global network of businesses, organisations and individuals committed to creating an inclusive workplace culture.

LFC was honoured with these two awards following its recognition as an Includability Committed Employer last year. To receive this status, the club completed a five-star verification process, demonstrating its practices aligned with established definitions of an ‘inclusive workplace’, including integrating fairness into the club’s culture and at each stage of its recruitment processes.

Achieving Includability Committed Employer status has given LFC access to a growing network of purpose-led organisations that aim to create a new standard for how the recruitment sector should deliver through engagement, collaboration and regularly sharing best practice.

David Holby-Wolinski, director at Includability, said: “I’d like to congratulate Liverpool Football Club for their outstanding achievements in leadership, governance, and their commitment to inclusivity, sustainability and mental wellbeing in the workplace.

“As winners of our Leadership and Governance Star Award 2023 and the Includability Committed Employer of the Year Award 2023, the club sets a remarkable example for the world of sports and beyond. The dedication displayed to excellence within your local community is truly commendable and inspiring. Keep leading the way and making a positive impact on and off the field.”

Rishi Jain, director of impact at LFC, added: “At Liverpool Football Club, we are committed to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion into everything that we do with the aim of being the most welcoming club.

“Having our work recognised is always positive and we are proud of the strides we are making and our continued journey to improvement through our sustainability strategy The Red Way, which encompasses all the club’s work to help build a better future for its people, its planet and its communities.”
