Joel Matip will depart Liverpool this summer after eight seasons at Anfield – recap how the defender's Reds career unfolded in our photo gallery.

The No.32 played a key role in the club lifting a number of honours, leading Jürgen Klopp to declare Matip as one of the 'best ever signings on a free transfer'.

Having made 201 appearances and amassed seven winner's medals – the Champions League and Premier League among them – Matip leaves Merseyside a popular figure with teammates and supporters.
