Liverpool have held 'advanced talks' with Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong as they seek to replace the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Frimpong has seen his stock rise in Germany and the Reds are considering him as a summer signing.

Those at Anfield are having to fill the huge void left by Alexander-Arnold, who has allowed his contract to wind down ahead of an imminent move to Real Madrid.

Frimpong has excelled in a Leverkusen outfit that claimed the Bundesliga and German Cup double last term.
