Q&A'It's a pleasure to be here' - Alejandra Bernabe's first interview after Liverpool loan move

The 23-year-old full-back, who has one senior international cap for Spain, will spend the rest of the current season with the Reds having finalised her temporary switch today.

Shortly after putting pen to paper, Bernabe - who will wear the No.29 shirt for Matt Beard's team - sat down for her first interview with Liverpoolfc.com at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.

On signing for Liverpool…

For me it's a pleasure to be here. I know that this is a big club and also I hear the love from outside about this big club, so it's a pleasure to be coming here.

On the qualities she hopes to provide on the pitch...

I'm the type of person who gives a lot of energy. I'm aggressive on the pitch and I like to attack and defend. I like to run a lot and I can be aggressive. I play left-back so I have to run a lot. I always try to give 100 per cent, be aggressive and I like to get crosses into the box.

On potentially making her debut in the home game against West Ham United on Sunday...

I'm so excited. I'm looking forward to seeing the stadium, meeting the people and the fans and hearing them.

On trying to help the team climb the table in the WSL…

We want to be nearer the teams at the top of the table. I know last season the team did very well to finish in the top four, so we need to play in every moment 100 per cent.

On the AXA Melwood Training Centre...

I've had a look around and it's so beautiful. I know it has a history and the amazing facilities they have and everything. I think it's the perfect place, there is the gym, the medical room, it's just amazing and I can't wait to get started.

On the welcoming atmosphere at the club's base...

It is like a family here and everyone at the club is close to each other. I think this is so much better for your performance, the people are kind and I'm so happy to be here.

On being reunited with fellow Chelsea loanee Julia Bartel…

Julia is so happy here. She loves the city and she has told me a lot of places where I can have a coffee and go for a walk. This city is amazing, there's lots of things to do and see and I am looking forward to seeing more of it with her. I'm so happy because it is so unexpected that we are here together. So now it's like we have to make a lot of plans and get to know the city and do the tourist bit! We are so happy to be together to do that.

On how Bartel's presence will help her settle quicker…

Julia is also Spanish and we speak the same language so it's good to talk to someone who can understand you, your language and everything, so on good days and bad days you can talk together. That is so good for us.

On following a childhood idol, and now friend, Fernando Torres in signing for LFC…

For me it's amazing. I never did think that I could be here and when I was a child and I saw Fernando Torres... in fact he is one of my friends, so to be here is amazing, it's a dream.

On her message to the supporters…

I'm so happy and I'm so excited. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and I will give 100 per cent always.
