Liverpool youngsters Bobby Clark and Ben Doak reflected on the 'great feeling' of scoring their first senior goals for the Reds.

The Academy pair both got themselves on the scoresheet in Sunday’s 4-0 pre-season victory over Leicester City at Singapore’s National Stadium.

Darwin Nunez opened the scoring in Asia, before Clark struck with a low, sweeping finish into the bottom corner to double the advantage on 35 minutes.

Diogo Jota then headed home ahead of the half-time interval to make it three, while Doak also converted a header after a well-worked corner routine in the second period.

Both Clark and Doak have been heavily involved in pre-season so far, picking up minutes across the Germany training camp and ongoing tour of Singapore, where Liverpool will next take on Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Read on to see what they had to say to Liverpoolfc.com post-match below…

On the feeling of scoring his first senior goal…

Obviously it’s a great feeling getting my first goal for the club and I took it well.

On his performance overall…

Yeah, I was OK. I could have done more and obviously it’s tough conditions over here, but it’s a good result.

On playing alongside Curtis Jones in midfield…

Curtis is really good and he gives us loads of advice. Obviously, he’s done it, so I take everything on board. He’s done it really well playing in that No.6 position as he did in the World Cup with England U21s.

Ben Doak

On his first goal in a Liverpool shirt…

It’s a good feeling, it’s my first one as well. It just feels really good to score in front of all these fans. I just tried to do my best and prove myself as well.

I mean, what’s not to like! He’s one of the best in the world and he has been for a few years. I’m just trying to take everything I can from him.

On doing as much as possible throughout pre-season to be involved at senior level...

Of course, I want to play as many games as possible. The more games you play the more ready you are to stay in the game as a whole. I’m just trying to make a career for myself, hopefully at the highest level.

On the support in Singapore showing how big a club Liverpool is…

Of course. You get over here and it’s just crazy with all the fans.
