NewsIpswich Town promoted back to the Premier League
By Chris Shaw
The Tractor Boys’ 3-0 win over Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the regular Championship campaign confirmed a second-placed finish and an automatic return to the top flight.
Ipswich regained a place in the Premier League at the first opportunity, following their relegation in 2024-25.
The Reds claimed a double over them during that term, winning 2-0 at Portman Road and then 4-1 at Anfield.
Overall, the clubs have faced each other 62 times in league football previously.
Ipswich join Championship winners Coventry City in being promoted, while the play-offs for the third promotion spot will be contested by Millwall, Southampton, Middlesbrough and Hull City.
