The Liverpool No.9 was a starter for Marcelo Bielsa's side in Montevideo and impressed during a 73-minute display.
Nunez set up the opening goal for Nicolas de la Cruz late in the first half, before providing another for the midfielder in the 71st minute.
Uruguay's second fixture in the CONMEBOL section of qualifying sees them travel to Ecuador on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Alisson Becker was an unused substitute in Brazil's 5-1 victory over Bolivia.
