NewsInjury update: Latest on Jeremie Frimpong, Wataru Endo and Joe Gomez
Arne Slot has confirmed this weekend's visit to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League will come too soon for Jeremie Frimpong to return.
Liverpool's No.30 has been absent since departing last month's Champions League fixture against Qarabag at Anfield due to a muscle injury.
Ahead of Sunday's fixture at the City Ground (2pm GMT kick-off), Slot issued the latest update on his fitness.
"Jeremie will not be involved this weekend yet," the head coach told his pre-match press conference on Thursday. "We hope he will be involved next week [against West Ham United] if things go as planned."
Asked about the latest on Wataru Endo, he added: "No, Wata will be out for a long time, as I said earlier. We don't know exactly how long - but long."
On whether Joe Gomez is now ready to start after appearing as a substitute, Slot replied: "Yeah, I think he is."
