Alexander Isak and Giorgi Mamardashvili are back in training ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Chelsea on Saturday.

Isak was absent against Manchester United last weekend due to a minor injury, while Mamardashvili has not featured since sustaining a leg wound in the Merseyside derby last month.

But both are back in contention to face the Blues in the Premier League at Anfield.

“Alex trains with us again,” said head coach Arne Slot at his pre-match press conference today. “Only yesterday for the first time. So that’s a positive.

“Yesterday he did parts of it, so hopefully he can do parts – or everything – today and let’s then see how much we’re going to use him tomorrow.

“Giorgi will train with us today for the first time so let’s see how he’s going to react.”

Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah have not yet resumed sessions with the team, however, and are unavailable.

“Alisson not yet, doesn’t train with us yet but very close to,” said Slot.

“Mo [has] also not trained with us yet but is also, like Ali, getting very, very, very close to training with us.”

The boss was also asked for clarity on Ibrahima Konate and Florian Wirtz not taking part in training earlier in the week.

“Ibou had a personal reason not to be there, but he was there yesterday and today again,” he replied. “And Florian was a bit unwell but he trained with us yesterday also.”

Slot also fielded a question on Conor Bradley, who is undergoing rehabilitation for the significant injury he suffered at Arsenal in January.

On whether the Northern Ireland international will be back for pre-season, he said: “I think – I don’t think, this is what they tell me – in the rehab it’s always really important in certain steps if they go well or don’t go well.

“It’s really difficult in the stage where he’s in now to predict exactly when he will be back; that will be by margins.

“He’s still inside, he works really hard to make the right steps but he’s at this moment quite far away of already going outside, and that makes it quite complicated to tell how long it’s going to take.”
