Hugo Ekitike shared his frustration at Liverpool only leaving Leeds United with a point on Saturday night after a frantic 3-3 draw.

The Frenchman scored two goals in as many minutes to put the Reds 2-0 up at Elland Road and kick off an end-to-end second half.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Anton Stach struck to make it 2-2, with Dominik Szoboszlai restoring the visitors' lead in the 80th minute.

However, substitute Ao Tanaka netted deep into stoppage time to rescue a point for Daniel Farke's side.

Ekitike spoke to Liverpoolfc.com after the game about his disappointment at the result and returning to the scoresheet – read the interview below...

Hugo, what's the overriding emotion after the game?

I would say disappointment because I think we had the game in our hands. A tough game, 2-0 [up] and we just conceded one goal and I think that we lost a bit of confidence. I would say disappointment because we have to win that game.

There was such a good start to the second half with two goals from yourself – what could you have done differently to control the situation from that point?

What I could say now is that we could probably run not much more but better. I think it's just the period at the time. We need to keep working together, stick together in that kind of game because we know the pressure is going to be on our shoulders if they score goals, because they play at home and they have big fans. I think we just have to stick together, run more for each other and just work as a team.

Is the key thing during this difficult run of results to stay together and stay calm in games?

Yeah, of course. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but at the moment and even tomorrow if we start to win every game we play, you have to work as a team and be together. That's what is going to make us do a great season.

On a personal note and for the team, how much can you take from the two goals you scored? Especially the second one with the real desire from Conor Bradley to keep the ball in and desire from you to be the first man to get there...

He gave me a great ball, to be honest. The only thing I had to do is just to believe that the ball will come again. Then when we had the eye contact, I knew he was going to put in [the ball] and I just threw myself. Obviously with me during that time I knew I was scoring less, I was less involved in goals and assists. I was a bit annoyed because as a striker you want to be involved and help the team with scoring goals or give assists. I just kept working. I'm glad that today I could score for the team. I just want more – especially to win [as] that's most important for me at the moment. Even if I don't score, I want us to win.
