According to various reports, the Reds are in advanced negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt over landing his signature this summer.
The 23-year-old is said to have agreed personal terms as the two clubs attempt to thrash out a deal worth more than £70m ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
A fresh claim has now been made over the future of Ekitike, with Eintracht Frankfurt reported to have told the forward they will not stand in his way over a transfer move.
Newcastle United are also credited with huge interest though Liverpool are said to be in pole position to land his services and bring him to Merseyside.
