Interview'Hopefully there will be a few more assists before the end of May'

The Reds face Villarreal this evening holding a two-goal advantage ahead of the second leg of the Champions League semi-final meeting with Unai Emery’s side.

Liverpool have already secured a place in the Emirates FA Cup final against Chelsea on May 14 and remain just one point behind Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

Alexander-Arnold has provided a key role in the club’s hunt for an unprecedented quadruple this term, with Jürgen Klopp’s squad having already secured Carabao Cup success in late February.

The 23-year-old full-back has notched 18 assists across all competitions, a figure which will see him end the campaign with the highest return of his career to date.

“I feel like I’ve performed well this season, personally,” Alexander-Arnold told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I do feel like I have performed well. Obviously, there’s always improvements for me to make. I think to top it off is to win trophies and have a successful end to the season.

“That’s the aim for me and just to try to help the team win as many games as I can.

“I feel good, I feel fit, I feel healthy, and I feel like I’m getting into form where I’m really being able to help the team.”

Alexander-Arnold and fellow full-back Andy Robertson often duel to end the season at the top of the assist ranks.

Robertson sits on 15 heading into the final month of the campaign, three behind his teammate.

The No.66 added: “He’s found his form as well at a really good time of the season. He’s been getting them on the board. I think it’s good we’re both able to push each other.

“But, yeah, there’s always that motivation to stay a couple ahead of him. Mo is sneaking in there now as well. That’s a bit of a headache for us!

“If you can get many players on these kind of numbers throughout the team, it’s exciting.

“I think us three have contributed the most in terms of assists and providing for the other lads. So, hopefully there will be a few more between now and the end of May.”
