Hillsborough Memorial cleaning on December 19

Some of the Hillsborough families have raised concerns about the increasing number of personal tributes being left at the Hillsborough Memorial, which are unrelated to the 97.

Out of respect for the 97 and their families, only tributes relating to those fans who lost their lives as a result of the disaster should be laid at the Hillsborough Memorial. No other items or tributes should be left on or in front of the memorial.

The club has scheduled to clean the memorial and surrounding areas on Monday December 19 and kindly asks that all personal items are collected prior to the maintenance commencing.

Any items that are left at the memorial on this date will be safely removed and put in storage. These items will not be replaced at the memorial but can be collected from Monday January 9 at Anfield.

Once the cleaning is completed on Wednesday December 21, we ask that items left at the memorial should be related to the 97 only.
