MatchGet your LFC Women v Everton Women matchday programme
Liverpool FC Women will honour a club legend when they return to Anfield this afternoon to face Everton Women in their first Merseyside derby of the season - and we have a special programme to mark the occasion.
Club-record goalscorer Natasha Dowie hung up her boots in the summer and will be recognised with a guard of honour from two of the clubs she served with distinction during her illustrious playing career.
She also features on the cover and inside the official matchday programme, which is the perfect souvenir for the occasion.
Dowie details why it was the right time to call it a day in terms of her playing career and discusses her excitement at becoming LFC's first female ambassador.
"It's going to be a special afternoon," she says. "To have a guard of honour and a mosaic for me at Anfield is going to be incredible. I can't wait. When you picture retiring, this is just how I envisioned saying goodbye on the playing side. This is just the perfect scenario for me."
We also hear from one of Dowie's former teammates, Gemma Bonner, as she looks forward to her first game at Anfield in more than a decade.
She assesses the club's 100 per cent start to their Barclays Women's Super League campaign, her own good form, the team's move to the AXA Melwood Training Centre, and why it is a particularly big weekend in her household.
Manager Matt Beard and captain Niamh Fahey share their thoughts in their regular columns, centre-back Jasmine Matthews talks us through playing at Anfield, while there is also a quiz to test your knowledge of goalkeeper Rachael Laws and a pull-out poster of the Reds' squad for 2023-24.
BBC Radio Merseyside broadcaster Giulia Bould looks ahead to the big game, while we also put the spotlight on our neighbours from Walton Hall Park and provide all the facts and stats that every fan needs to know.
