ColumnGareth Taylor on Charlton win, Women's FA Cup semi-final draw and 'leader' Jenna Clark

It was really pleasing for us to get through to the semi-final and it's a really good achievement.

I had to make some changes for the game with Grace Fisk serving a one-match suspension, Ceri Holland picking up a little knock and Anna Josendal missing out through illness.

You will always miss Fisky with her leadership but I have been really impressed with Jenna Clark.

Jenna has really stepped up in her performances and has taken on new leadership levels. I think she is really making it difficult to play against her now.

As a defender she has got the lot – she has a real aerial presence, she is really quick and a leader.

When she plays really aggressively, she is so hard to play against. She has been a real asset to the team and is being rewarded now with good performances.

Ceri missing the game was obviously a blow to us and that's why we probably fell down a bit in that final third against Charlton. We just lacked that little bit of cutting edge that she gives us.

Ceri won't be going away on international duty now, which is good in a sense that we can get her back for our next game against West Ham United and the remaining games.

I decided to make a few changes for the game and spruced it up a little bit. Kappy [Cornelia Kapocs] did a good job as well moving from infield to out wide when needed.

What a moment it was for Zara Shaw when she came on and got the winner. It was fantastic for Zara. She is a great human, incredible around the place and is so well respected by everyone.

When you consider she is only 18, she plays beyond her years and this will be a real boost for her because she has been through a lot with the ACL injuries.

She has worked really hard to get back and no-one deserved that moment more than her.

I have to give a special shout-out to our supporters, who were immense. They were singing non-stop as always and they helped us get it over the line. We appreciate them so much.

As always, you want a home draw – and we have got that in the semi-final.

We know Brighton & Hove Albion are a tough test and we have drawn twice with them this season. But with our fans behind us, we want to do something special and we will give it everything that we have got.

We have a break now until we host West Ham on Sunday April 26.

We will work with some of the players who will not be away on international duty – the likes of Martha Thomas, Josendal and potentially Fisky if she doesn't get called in from standby. There will be a few other players as well we can work with.

Thank you for your continued support.

YNWA,

Gareth
