NewsFuka Nagano helps Japan make winning start to Women's World Cup
Fuka Nagano played the full game as Japan began their Women's World Cup campaign with a 5-0 defeat of Zambia on Saturday morning.
The Liverpool FC Women midfielder helped her country start the tournament in emphatic fashion, with Hinata Miyazawa (two), Mina Tanaka, Jun Endo and Riko Ueki the goalscorers at Waikato Stadium.
The result gives Japan early command of Group C, ahead of Spain on goal difference. Nagano and co are back in action on Wednesday when they meet Costa Rica for matchday two.
