Round-upFriday's internationals: Van Dijk goal, Wirtz scores brace and two assists

Wirtz was the chief protagonist for Germany as they twice came from behind to eventually beat Switzerland 4-3 in a friendly in Basel.

The Reds’ No.7’s back-post cross set up Jonathan Tah for a first leveller and later in the opening half his through ball sent Serge Gnabry in to score.

Wirtz himself then put Germany in front with a sensational finish, whipping the ball into the far top corner from the left side of the area.

Switzerland replied to equalise but Wirtz then dispatched his second goal of the evening four minutes from the end to clinch victory and round off an outstanding display.

For the Netherlands, meanwhile, Liverpool captain Van Dijk equalised during the first half of a friendly against Norway in Amsterdam.

He rose to meet a corner kick from the right flank with a clinical header into the net from the edge of the six-yard box as the Dutch went on to win 2-1.

Van Dijk featured for the full match, while Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch each started and played 82 minutes. Jeremie Frimpong was an unused substitute.

Earlier in the day, midfielder Kyle Kelly played the whole game for St. Kitts and Nevis as they were beaten 4-0 by Indonesia in Jakarta as part of the FIFA Series.
