This year also introduces the men's and women's captain, awarded to the standout performer on the pitch across both men's and women's XIs.

The final Team of the Year XIs will be announced shortly after the vote concludes, with special TOTY player items released into EA SPORTS FC™ 26 and FC Mobile to celebrate each player's status as a fan favourite.

Alisson Becker, Ryan Gravenberch, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are among this year's nominees, following an outstanding calendar year in which they lifted the Premier League trophy.
