Press conferenceFlorian Wirtz previews PSG v Liverpool: 'These are the games I dreamt of'
Florian Wirtz is excited for the challenge of taking on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Liverpool kick off their last-eight tie with the current holders on Wednesday night at Parc des Princes.
It will be Wirtz's first experience of this round of Europe's premier club competition, and he told a press conference on the eve of the first leg: "These are the games you want to play as a player and I dreamt of when I came to this club.
"We try everything to do a good game tomorrow and next week also at Anfield. So yeah, these are the games you want to play as a player and for sure come through this round."
The No.7 continued: "It's a very big competition. Champions League games are always special. We try to enjoy it, to come as far as possible and hopefully come through this round now.
"We know it's difficult because the best teams in the world are playing Champions League. It's good to play against these teams and see where you are."

Wirtz, however, was keen to stress that there remains plenty left to pursue between now and the end of May.
"We wanted to have a better season until now," he said. "We had some goals this season. Of course the team won the Premier League last season and this was for sure the aim for this season as well.
"But we are still in the Champions League now, so there's still something to play for. And also qualification for the Champions League next season.
"So, we still have some goals we want to achieve. We wanted it to be better but there's still something to play for.
"We need tomorrow 90 minutes full energy and full commitment, otherwise we will have no chance. We need 90 minutes of being together as a team.
"Also in difficult moments if we concede, we have to stay together and have belief that we can win this game. And over everything is that we still have a second game at home, where we want for sure to have a good result.
"We have to stick together and also in the bad moments. I think on the weekend we tried too much, I think, at one point, so we were a little bit wild on the pitch. We have to fix that for the next game."
