Player spotlight: Bradley Barcola (£8.0m)

Barcola's arrival creates another major attacking threat for FPL managers in a Liverpool squad that already has plenty of great options.

The £8.0m FPL price tag feels about right for a player who hasn't yet played a Premier League minute, but his numbers at Paris Saint-Germain suggest there is genuine FPL potential here.

In 2024-25, he played 58 matches in all competitions, producing 21 goals and 18 assists, totalling 39 goal involvements - more than all but eight players from Europe's top five leagues.

He also created 27 big chances and had 51 big chances himself.

During the 2025-26 campaign he returned 13 goals and six assists in all competitions, while helping PSG retain both the Ligue 1 and Champions League titles.

FPL managers might be concerned about potential rotation because of the wealth of attacking options available at Liverpool.

However, a combination of Barcola's pace, goal threat and ability to create chances makes him a very interesting option in the Reds' attack.

Barcola could be one to move early on as a differential in FPL if he performs in Gameweek 3.

Liverpool players to watch

Alexander Isak (£9.0m) grabbed his first goal of the season in Gameweek 2.

The forward was Liverpool's highest-scoring player in the match against Nottingham Forest, registering eight FPL points for his owners.

Isak has had seven shots on goal and three big chances in the opening two fixtures, both of which are team-leading tallies.

He also created two chances for his teammates, which is only bettered by Cody Gakpo (£7.0m), Dominik Szoboszlai (£7.0m) and Jeremie Frimpong (£5.5m).

Victor Munoz (£6.5m) scored his first Liverpool goal in Gameweek 2.

The winger had four shots versus Forest, more than any other Reds player, and looks a promising investment for FPL managers.

While Szoboszlai did not register an attacking return, he did achieve the defensive contribution threshold. Szoboszlai was already registering defensive contributions from his midfield role, but his move to right-back late in the game helped him in this regard.

Interestingly, all his tackles and clearances came after he moved into defence. Achieving the 12 defensive contributions needed from a midfielder meant Szoboszlai registered the two additional points.

That could be good news for his FPL prospects. At £7.0m, his set-piece threat, as well as the prospect of additional defensive contribution points when he moves deeper, gives him another route to FPL returns.

Manchester City's Rayan Cherki (£7.7m) is the most-transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 3. The midfielder scored two goals against Crystal Palace in Gameweek 2.

The Gameweek 3 deadline is at 6.30pm BST on Friday September 4, 90 minutes before Liverpool's kick-off at Ipswich Town.

FPL chips

If you have had a difficult start to the season, then playing a first wildcard chip could help change an FPL manager's fortune. The wildcard allows managers to change their whole team without needing to take a points hit to their score.

Managers could also consider playing their triple captain chip in the early weeks. This chip sees the captain points tripled rather than doubled for that particular week.
