This will be the 14th tie between Liverpool and Arsenal in the FA Cup, the same number as Liverpool v Manchester United. Only Everton have faced the Reds in more ties in this competition (19).

Liverpool have scored in 19 of their last 21 meetings with Arsenal and have netted more than once in six of their last eight visits in both league and cup.

The teams last clashed in the competition in February 2014, while the Reds' last FA Cup win at Arsenal came in February 1964, with Ian St John scoring the only goal of that game.

The Reds have won the FA Cup on eight occasions to date – the most recent of which came in 2022 at Wembley against Chelsea via a penalty shootout.

Jürgen Klopp is the only German manager ever to lift the FA Cup, doing so after that victory over the Blues two seasons ago.

Liverpool and Arsenal are the only teams ever to win the FA Cup on penalties. The Reds lifted the trophy by virtue of a shootout in both 2006 and 2022, while the Gunners did so in 2005.

Only once in the last 12 seasons have Liverpool exited the FA Cup at the third-round stage, which came in 2019 at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Diogo Jota has made more appearances for Liverpool against Arsenal than he has against any other club (nine games) and has scored seven goals.

Harvey Elliott's next start will be his 50th for the Reds in all competitions.

Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo both made their Liverpool debuts on this date, both in the FA Cup and each time against Wolves – Jones in 2019, Gakpo in 2023.

Jones, with 13, has made more appearances for the Reds in the FA Cup than any current player.
