Salah is available to feature in that fixture, before he joins up with his nation for the latest edition of AFCON, to be held in the Ivory Coast.
Egypt get their participation under way by facing Mozambique on January 14.
The visit of Newcastle will also be Wataru Endo’s final Reds appearance before he heads to the AFC Asian Cup with Japan.
Japan’s group-stage schedule at the tournament in Qatar begins when they meet Vietnam, also on January 14.
