ReactionDominik Szoboszlai: I'm happy with my level but just need to keep going for the team
The midfielder excelled once again on Tuesday night as the Reds made it back-to-back wins and clean sheets by beating Real Madrid 1-0 in the Champions League at Anfield.
Szoboszlai provided the free-kick delivery from which Alexis Mac Allister headed in the decisive goal during the second half.
He now has two goals, five assists and four Player of the Match awards in 2025-26.
Asked about his own form while speaking to CBS Sports after the win over Real, the No.8 said: “It’s a team sport. I’m happy about my performance week by week and game by game, but now I think we are back on a winning track and that’s the most important.
“I’m happy that I can play at a level like that but I just need to keep going.”
Reflecting on Liverpool’s victory over a Real side that tops La Liga and had a 100 per cent record in the Champions League this term, Szoboszlai added: “Finally we are keeping clean sheets, that’s the most important.
“We had a rule: five seconds, [get back] behind the ball. And I think the last two or three games, everybody is doing it.
“The new guys [have] also showed their quality, especially today I have to mention Flo [Florian Wirtz] because he just kept on running, winning the balls, running back, having his chances. Giving me almost an assist… sorry! We need everybody.”
