Divock Origi has today joined Serie A champions AC Milan following the expiry of his Liverpool contract.

Origi – who spent eight years as a Reds player having joined from French outfit Lille – scored 41 goals in 175 appearances during a glittering Anfield career.

He helped end a 30-year wait to lift the league title while also picking up FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup medals throughout his spell on Merseyside.

Origi’s contributions to Liverpool’s Champions League triumph in 2019, though, were perhaps his crowning moment.

The striker scored twice in the 4-0 semi-final comeback win over Barcelona – with his latter strike recently voted the Reds’ greatest ever goal.

He later went on to score the second in the resulting 2-0 victory in the final against Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid after stepping off the bench.

Jürgen Klopp hailed Origi as a Liverpool legend following the announcement of his departure while the 27-year-old reflected on his Reds career in May.

Origi said: “Honestly, I feel honoured. It was an honour to be able to play here in Anfield with teammates, with staff [and] with the fans – it’s been an honour.

“You have to experience Liverpool. Before I came here, they told me it’s a special club and once you sign here, you experience it.

“I’ve been able to see us winning so much – it goes beyond words. It’s been an honour.”

Everyone connected to Liverpool FC would like to thank Divock for his efforts and wish him the very best of luck in the next stage of his career.
