The Hungary international put Premier League champions Liverpool back in front in first-half stoppage time, when the score was 1-1.
From a short free-kick with Harvey Elliott to the right edge of the box, Szoboszlai fired the ball across the penalty area and it swirled viciously inside the opposite post.
Some believed the midfielder was purposely aiming to score, others felt certain it was a cross that fortuitously found the net.
Well, the man himself put the argument to bed when he spoke to the media after the game, which was eventually won 3-2 by the Seagulls.
“No, it was a cross, to be honest,” said Szoboszlai. “I’m not going to lie! But I’m happy to score and help the team.”
