ReactionDenise O'Sullivan on Liverpool debut, first goal, FA Cup and more
The new Reds midfielder opened the scoring in the fourth-round tie at the Hive to set Gareth Taylor's outfit on their way to an impressive 6-0 victory and a spot in Monday's draw.
For O'Sullivan it was an immediate impact as she played an important role just a day after confirming her transfer to the club.
Read on for her reaction when speaking to Liverpoolfc.com post-match…
On making her Liverpool debut...
It was really good. I think getting out there with the girls and showing what we want to do in the game was nice and to get a feel for that and get some touches on the ball. It was a nice win in the end and I'm proud of the team.
On scoring her first goal...
I think out on that left side I was connecting with Ceri [Holland] throughout the game doing one-twos. She got on the end of it and crossed it in and I joined in and put it away. I want to get more goals and assists. It was nice to get on the scoresheet but now I have to keep going.
On treating London Bees with 'respect' and completing a 'professional' win...
You have to go out and play the team that's on the pitch. It's always going to be difficult. They sat in a low block and made it tough at times and we had to be patient and that's what Gareth said before the game - just to be patient on the ball and keep it moving and move them around. I think we did well and the girls that came on the pitch were excellent. We're looking forward now to the game next week [against Tottenham Hotspur].
On playing alongside Maizie Trueman, who became the club's youngest ever player...
I thought she was very composed. Maizie has been really good. She's very comfortable and she's just a kid but she's willing to learn and that's what you want in and around the team. I thought she did really well. She's brave on the ball and a very technical player. I think the future is bright for her.
On whether she remembers her first game...
Of course! I've been playing football for years now. To be at Liverpool now, I'm very proud and my family is very proud. I'm really, really happy to be here.
On the travelling support...
It's excellent to see all the fans that came out. We heard them throughout the game and we appreciate the support and I'm happy we got the win for them.
