NewsCurtis Jones completes permanent transfer to Internazionale
Having joined the Academy at U9 level, the midfielder departs having won six major trophies, including two Premier League titles, with the Reds.
He made 228 senior appearances and scored 22 goals for the club.
Jones progressed through Liverpool’s youth set-up and made his first-team debut a few weeks shy of his 18th birthday in January 2019.
A year later, he scored his first senior goal in unforgettable fashion by locating the top corner from outside the area to ensure a youthful Reds side knocked Everton out of the FA Cup at Anfield.
A moment of history followed in the next round as Jones, aged 19 years and five days, became the club’s youngest ever captain when he skippered the youngest team in Liverpool’s history to a win over Shrewsbury Town.
Jones lifted the FIFA Club World Cup and earned his first Premier League winner’s medal during a formative period around Jürgen Klopp’s all-conquering team.
By the start of the 2020-21 campaign, he was a fully-fledged senior squad member. Jones added the FA Cup and Carabao Cup to his collection of trophies in 2021-22 and then made nearly 60 appearances during Klopp’s final two seasons in charge.
Following Arne Slot’s appointment as head coach in the summer of 2024, Jones played 46 times across all competitions – including 33 appearances in the Premier League – as Liverpool won the top-flight championship again in 2024-25.

A further 49 appearances followed during a 2025-26 campaign that was to prove to be his last at Anfield.
All at Liverpool FC thank Curtis for his dedication and contribution to the club across the last 16 years, and wish him good luck in the next chapter of his career.
