Thursday's draw for the opening section of the competition proper paired the Reds with the following clubs:

- Real Madrid

- Internazionale

- Atletico Madrid

- Eintracht Frankfurt

- PSV Eindhoven

- Marseille

- Qarabag

- Galatasaray

Arne Slot's Premier League champions will host Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, PSV Eindhoven and Qarabag at Anfield.

And they will travel to take on Internazionale, Eintracht Frankfurt, Marseille and Galatasaray.

The sides that finish in the top eight of the 36-team table for the league phase qualify directly for the Round of 16.

Clubs that place ninth to 24th will enter the knockout round play-offs, where the winners of those ties advance.
