The Reds will discover their matchups in the 36-team opening section of the competition proper during Thursday's draw in Monaco.
Based on seeding, clubs have been split into four pots and will be assigned two teams from each, facing one at home and one away.
Arne Slot's men, who will be in pot one, cannot meet a fellow Premier League club and more than two sides from the same country, in principle.

Pot one: Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Internazionale, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid.
Pot two: Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Club Brugge, Eintracht Frankfurt, Juventus, Villarreal.
Pot three: Ajax, Bodo/Glimt, Marseille, Napoli, Olympiacos, PSV Eindhoven, Slavia Prague, Sporting CP.
Pot four: AS Monaco, Athletic Club, FC Copenhagen, Galatasaray, Kairat Almaty, Pafos, Qarabag, Union SG.
