This will be the third Champions League meeting between the clubs, who last met in the 2018-19 group stage, with Liverpool winning 3-2 at home and losing 2-1 away.

Arne Slot is unbeaten against French opposition in major European competition, winning two of his three matches and drawing the other. The most recent of those was a 2-1 win over Lille in this season's league phase.

Slot used 27 players in the league phase, with the 17 goals being shared by nine different scorers.

Mohamed Salah has been directly involved in 20 goals in 30 appearances in the knockout stages of the Champions League (12 goals, eight assists) – the most by an African player in the competition's history (one more than Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba).

Salah is in line to make his 84th outing for Liverpool in Europe and join Pepe Reina in sixth place on the club's all-time European appearance list.

With 51 goals, the Egyptian is level with Thierry Henry in 10th spot on the all-time Champions League goalscorers chart.

Among full-backs who have played at least 300 minutes in the Champions League this term, the two players averaging the most line-breaking passes per 90 are Andy Robertson (16.6) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (13.9).

PSG are on a five-game winning streak in the Champions League, scoring 21 goals and only conceding three times in this run. They last won six in a row in the competition in the 1994-95 campaign under Luis Fernandez.

Achraf Hakimi leads all defenders in the 2024-25 Champions League for chances created (12) and assists (four) made while under high-intensity pressure from an opposition player. His four such assists are the most of any player in the competition this term.

This is Liverpool's 450th game in European competition and their 257th in the European Cup/Champions League.

Four Liverpool players would miss the second leg if they receive a yellow card in this match: Robertson, Alexis Mac Allister, Ibrahima Konate and Harvey Elliott.

The Reds have won 16 of their last 22 away Champions League games (one draw, five defeats), including 11 of the last 14.

Liverpool have scored 101 goals this season across all competitions, four fewer than PSG's 105.

At home against teams from England, PSG have won six of 15 encounters, losing four of the other nine.

PSG head coach Luis Enrique will take charge of a team against Liverpool for the first time in his career.

They have won 20 of their last 43 European games (drawing eight and losing 15) and have won 50 of their last 80 at home in Europe.

In PSG's home game with Brest last month, they recorded their biggest ever win in UEFA club competition, while seven different players found the net in the 7-0 victory.
