NewsCeri Holland wins back-to-back LFC Women Player of the Month awards

The Welsh midfielder keeps her hands on the prize she received in February and also in October.

Holland was the runaway winner of March's poll after claiming three-quarters of the vote on Liverpoolfc.com.

She reacted: "This is really special. Obviously it was a really good month for the team and we had some really positive results and rounded off with that special win in the derby last weekend.

"This is really special for me because it is voted for by the fans and they have been fantastic throughout the whole season.

"I've got no doubt they will continue to support us and hopefully help us get through in the FA Cup this weekend."

Holland played every minute of the Reds' unbeaten March, which included a pair of victories in the Barclays Women's Super League.

The No.18 sealed the three points at home to Leicester City by converting a late penalty.

She then scored twice as Everton were beaten at Goodison Park in the Merseyside derby, the second goal of hers a stunning solo effort that she believes is among her best in a red shirt.

"It is probably up there, yes," said Holland. "It was a really good set-up from Beata [Olsson] – and that doesn't go unnoticed – and then I just took the space that was in front of me. I was really happy to see it hit the back of the net.

"Scoring more goals for this club is definitely something I'm trying to work on and that win was for our fans.

"Leicester was a big win for us but we just take it one game at a time. We don't put more pressure on than it needs. But when we won that one, it felt like a big result at the time."

Why you voted for Holland...

Heidi Thomas: Goals, assists, grit and determination. Player of the Season for me, too.

Mike Stoddard: She has everything.

Sue O'Brien: Ceri has been on fire these past few months, which has really helped the team move up the WSL. She is always willing to fight for the ball until the whistle blows. Her tenacity, strength and sheer determination are wonderful to see.

Gordon Dedman: Her work-rate and contribution is outstanding, and a good part of the team's turnaround.

Jodie Wright: She is a huge team player, she puts in 100 per cent effort every game and I think she's getting even better every game.

Selina Keaveney: Just been absolutely boss, hasn't she?
