NewsCeri Holland interview: Building on positives, Sheffield United cup tie and new position
Ceri Holland insists Liverpool FC Women can take heart from their performance against Chelsea and use it to kick-start their season.
After a tough start to the campaign, the Reds gained a second successive point in the Barclays Women's Super League last Sunday by drawing 1-1 with the reigning champions.
The weekend before saw a stoppage-time leveller from Brighton & Hove Albion deny Gareth Taylor's side their first league win of 2025-26.
Holland reflected: "I think the Brighton game felt like a loss on the day, but the Chelsea game we really battled and stuck with the game plan. So it was a massive point for us against a really good team as we know.
"We've just got to continue to improve and to continue working hard here at the AXA Melwood Training Centre and then I'm confident results will start to take care of themselves.
"We've got an international break coming up now but I think after a good performance against Chelsea, out of possession especially, but with the ball I think maybe we could have done a bit better.
"It's all about building for each game and we've got three massive away games to end the year in the WSL against Arsenal, Aston Villa and West Ham United, so we will be focused for them and ready to take as many points as we can."

Watch on YouTubeLiverpool have turned their focus towards the Subway Women's League Cup as they travel to Sheffield United on Saturday evening in their third group-stage fixture.
Having beaten Sunderland and Durham, the Reds are in a good position to qualify for the quarter-finals and would guarantee their place with a win against the Blades.
"This is another really important game for us and we want to qualify for the knockout stage," Holland continued.
"We have done really well in the cup so far and have had some really good performances and scored some really good goals, especially in that game against Sunderland.
"It would be massive for us to go through and secure that quarter-final place, and we need to continue to push and do well in the cup."
Holland has taken up a new role in the team this season under Taylor, operating as a right-sided attacker.
The tactical tweak is one the Wales international is relishing so far.
"I've really enjoyed my new position this season and I do think it probably suits me a bit better than playing in the middle of the pitch," she said.
"I can use my power, I like to get at defenders and get crosses into the box, and I think my assist in the game against Manchester City kind of showed what I like to do.
"I've really enjoyed being coached in this new position and I'm looking forward to building on that."
