Liverpool FC Women midfielder Ceri Holland is set to be out of action for several weeks due to a groin injury.

The Wales international was forced to pull out of the starting line-up at Manchester City Women on Sunday after picking up a problem during the pre-match warm-up.

Holland underwent a scan on Monday, which revealed she could now miss up to four weeks due to the issue.

As a result, the 24-year-old has withdrawn from the Wales squad ahead of their November international camp to begin treatment.

LFC Women manager Matt Beard told Liverpoolfc.com: “Obviously it’s a blow for us because Ceri has been in such good form this season, but we’ve got a squad for these situations and, of course, it will be an opportunity for other players to show their qualities.”
