The defender will spend the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign with Jon Dahl Tomasson's Championship side after finalising a temporary switch on transfer deadline day.
Koumetio joined Liverpool in 2018 from Orleans FC and has made two senior appearances to date, having made his debut in the Champions League fixture at FC Midtjylland back in December 2020.
The 21-year-old spent the first half of this season in France with Ligue 2 outfit USL Dunkerque before returning to the Reds last month.
His development will now continue with Blackburn, who currently sit 18th in the Championship and are next in action on Saturday against Queens Park Rangers.
