ReactionBeata Olsson on confidence, WSL scoring record and 'more to do'
The striker netted for the fifth consecutive Liverpool FC Women match in all competitions as her side were edged out 2-1 by Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
Summer recruit Olsson has totalled seven goals across that quintet of outings.
In continuing the run versus the Gunners, she also became the first player ever to score in four of her opening five starts in the Barclays Women's Super League.
Post-match, Olsson reflected on her personal form, the frustration of the defeat in London and her belief positive results are coming.
On her summary of the game...
We're not really happy with losing in the end. We followed the game plan in a lot of ways and we fought so hard. Our whole back line. [We had] a bit more inexperienced players but we all did so well. In all ways we deserved a point because we did everything we wanted.
On Liverpool showing character to come back from 1-0 down early on...
Absolutely. We go into every game thinking we have points to take, and in a game like this we always believe we can come back. Obviously we didn't give ourselves enough time at the end. Maybe we had a few chances we should have put in the net before that. But I agree, I think we showed some character.
On making WSL history with her goal and what is behind her recent form...
It's my job, I know I can score and I'm quite confident in that. So, if I just figure out where to be in the box, I know that people will find me. Mia [Enderby] did an incredible job finding me with that high-pressure moment. I'm quite confident right now that I can score. I didn't know [about the record], that's nice.
On if she feels Liverpool are 'building something' despite results...
I think so. This shows we've got a lot more to do and a lot more to take in this league. We obviously didn't get the start we wanted but from now on I think we have a lot of points to take.
