The Italy forward completed a transfer from Juventus on Thursday but Arne Slot does not expect him to feature at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

“He’s going to train with us today but it’s a bigger chance that he is not in the squad for Sunday than he is,” the head coach said during Friday morning’s pre-match press conference.

“If injuries might come up in the upcoming two days we might need him, but I don’t expect him to be in but I cannot guarantee this.”

Meanwhile, Curtis Jones is the Reds’ only injury concern ahead of the trip to face United.

Slot stated: “At the moment there are not any other injuries except for Curtis Jones and he will not train with us today. But the rest will train with us today.”
