NewsAnfield set to host record Merseyside derby attendance
By Chris Shaw
Liverpool return to action after more than a fortnight without a fixture by facing Everton in the Premier League (8pm BST kick-off).
The highest crowd figure for a clash between the clubs at the stadium to date is the 56,060 who witnessed a goalless stalemate in April 1963.
But that total should be comfortably surpassed at the first Anfield derby since the expansion of the Anfield Road Stand, with the Reds’ home league attendance figures in 2024-25 so far all more than 60,000.
