NewsAlisson Becker on Brazil dream and World Cup target

Liverpool's No.1 is set to be in goal for his country at the tournament in Qatar, with the Selecao's first fixture, against Serbia, taking place on Thursday.

He played at the World Cup for the first time in 2018 and cannot wait to repeat the experience this year.

"I am really looking forward to it, it will be my second World Cup," Alisson told Liverpoolfc.com.

"It's something amazing, nothing compares to being there on that stage playing for your national team, singing the national anthem. It's indescribable.

"It's a great feeling having my family there around me, together, supporting me. It's a dream, a kid's dream come true."

Brazil were eliminated by Belgium at the quarter-final stage of the last World Cup and Alisson is hopeful of improving on that performance this time around.

He continued: "We are confident, but we have a few players that played in the World Cup in 2018 and we know how difficult it is to be there, [to] play games. Each opponent you have in front of you has quality, desire and passion.

"You don't have space to make mistakes, so you have to be perfect if you want to win the competition. We trust in our quality, we trust in our players, we trust in the manager and we know the shirt we are wearing carries history behind it.

"We feel even stronger when we put the yellow shirt on, so we are going to go there full of desire and passion to represent our nation."
